Magnolia Magazine

Welcome to the official website of Magnolia Magazine! As a small youth literary magazine, our aim is to allow young creatives to publish their work and gain some experience where they are often denied this chance to have their work seen due to their age or inexperience. We hope to create a space where these writers and artists can blossom together all while supporting one another and seeing each others pieces published in our issues. This supportiveness and sense of community are super important to us and we value each and every one of our contributors, ensuring they feel good about putting their work in our magazine.

Check Out Our Instagram

If you're looking to get involved with our magazine, keeping an eye on our Instagram page will be helpful. There we announce any and all submission opportunities and even post some motivation to help writers throughout their creative process. Pretty much anything there is to know about us is on Instagram, so if you want some more information on us, it would be helpful to check there too!

Submission Guidelines

- We have a maximum of 3 submissions per person for each issue. These submissions can be in different categories (a drawing, and a poem for example).
- If you've already published work with us, you can submit again to future issues, competitions, etc.
- We ask that submissions are kept under 2000 words.
- All of our contributors must be between the ages of 12 and 25 as we are a youth magazine.
- We do accept previously published work, though we ask that you make sure the first publisher is okay with this too and let us know who they are so we can properly credit them
- No pieces containing any kind of hate speech or hurtful language will be tolerated. We ask that you treat any sensitive topics with consideration.

Issue 01: Through the Decades

For our very first issue, through the decades, we are seeking pieces relating to one, if not multiple, different eras in modern history. This can be a recounting of your own childhood nostalgia from the 2000s, a throwback to a past decade that you wish you were around to live in, or even a prediction of what you think future decades may look like. If you wish to submit to this issue, you must send us your work no later than September 30, 2024
